The Maryland Women's Heritage Center Highlights Maryland Women Artists During Women's History Month

BALTIMORE, MD.- The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center highlights Maryland women artists with an art exhibition in conjunction with Women’s History Month. “Women’s Art: Women’s Vision” is on display at the World Trade Center in Baltimore (401 East Pratt Street) and runs through Sunday, April 5. The exhibition and is free and open to the public.

“Women’s Art: Women’s Vision” includes more than 20 women artists from across Maryland. Artists exhibiting are Denee Barr, Joan Lok, and Eileen Williams of Columbia, Md.; Wilhelmina Burress and Karen Burress of Bowie, Md.; Ev Cabrera of Laurel, Md.; Barbara Curran, Mary Carol Curran, Rosetta DeBerardinis, Janet Freedman, Stephanie Goldberg, Loretto Gubernatis, Chrissy Gubernatis, Stephanie Hopkins, Jessica McKelvin, Sherah Rosen, Kenlynn Schroeder, and Sydnei SmithJordan of Baltimore; Barbara Johnson of Pasadena, Md.; Sandra Magsamen of Glen Arm, Md.; Eliner Tryon Elgin of Bel Air, Md.; and Diane Wieder of Ellicott City, Md.. All artwork in the exhibition is for sale and proceeds benefit the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center.

The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center was established to preserve the past, understand the present, and shape the future by recognizing, respecting, and transmitting the experiences and contributions of Maryland women of diverse backgrounds and from all regions of the state. The first effort of its kind in the nation, it provides a place to learn and teach about the contributions of Maryland women throughout the State’s history, to develop leadership for girls and women, and to hold forums to address issues impacting girls, women and their families.
