Eulalia Valldosera Presents her Latest Work Of Art, Dependencies, at Museo Reina Sofia
Dependencies is the new work that gives name and articulates the exhibition.

MADRID.- The conception of this exhibition by Eulalia Valldosera (Vilafranca del Penedés, Barcelona 1964) shares two objectives: the presentation of Dependencies, her most recent work made for this exhibition at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and with which she inaugurates a new cycle in her production, as well as an overview of her artistic career from her beginnings at the end of the 1980s until today.

Dependencies is the new work that gives name and articulates the exhibition. It is a monumental piece with which the visitors can interact with supermarket carts that contain video projectors. With it the artist retakes the theme of the film device and the stage, harnessing the touching, hearing and playful aspects. The title alludes to the body dependencies where life develops as well as her ‘original stays’, maternity, sex, love or sickness, but at the same time makes reference to the dependency upon certain mechanisms that construct us and that define our way of looking at things and of interacting.

Light installations and actions characterize the work by Eulalia Valldosera, where the intention is not to create an object to be observed, but to allow the public to participate in an action that can be remembered. Cleaning packages and products constitute the leit motiv of the majority of her installations. In this exhibition visitors can interact with these packages manipulated so that they can serve as containers of experiences that some people desire to erase from their lives, others allow to register them
