The Do LaB Presents: Lucent L'amour: a Visionary Love Fest

LOS ANGELES, CA.- After taking their immersive art and performance installations worldwide in 2007, the L.A.-based event creations company and artists' collective, The Do LaB, returns to Los Angeles with their first outing of 2008: Lucent L'amour: a Visionary Love Fest, on Saturday, February 16th. A must for the West Coast’s Urban Circus Scene, Lucent L'amour will celebrate the holiday of love with a brand new performance by Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque, and feature sets by electronic producers Bassnectar, David Starfire, Vibesquad, Welder, and more. As always, the group responsible for such feats as the acre-big, floral-themed Misting Oasis at Coachella, the 100-foot tall Flower and Flytrap at Burning Man, and the Lightning in a Bottle Music & Art Festival, doesn't just stop with music and performance. In true Do LaB style, the artists will transform a raw, 20,000 square-ft. warehouse space in Downtown LA, turning it into a wonderland of the senses for just this one special event.

In promotion for the event The Do LaB will be organizing a guerrilla art installation contest all across Los Angeles incorporating some of their custom creations, called Lumies. The Do LaB used the Lumies to illuminate massive music festivals from Japan to Ireland (including Coachella), and is now giving them away to 14 contestants for two chances to win tickets to Lucent L'amour. Contestants have to create temporary public art with the Lumies around LA, and the winners will be voted on by the Do LaB’s community for greatest creativity.
