LONDON.- The 2022 Daytona SP3 makes a compelling case to be considered the most desirable Ferrari of the 21st century. After paying tribute to its open-top sportscars of the late 1940s and 1950s with the Monza SP1 and SP2, Ferrari used its third Icona creation to honour its mid-engined prototypes of the 1960s. Unveiled in 2022, the Daytona SP3 is considered by many to be the most beautiful Ferrari of the modern era. The Daytona SP3 employs a 6.5-litre, 65-degree V-12 the engine, boasting 829 bhp and is the most potent non-electrically assisted 12-cylinder engine in Ferrari road car history.
The breathtaking Daytona SP3 offered here in left-hand-drive form in June 2022, and as denoted by the special plaque that reads Vettura Di Sviluppo, it was a designated development car. This SP3 therefore holds the distinction of being specified by Ferrari. Perfectly showcasing the design and was configured in the Extra Range colour of Giallo Triplo Strato. The exterior is complemented by Rosso Ferrari leather upholstery with upper and lower Alcantara accents. The removable hardtop roof panel, lower bodywork, and lid lip were selected in carbon fibre. This example was retained by Ferrari SpA to fulfil an important role as the companys factory press car; it featured in many important media reviews including an episode BBCs Top Gear. Offered by the first and only private owner, this significant Ferrari is estimated at £7,500,000 - £9,500,000.
Also newly consigned to the London auction is a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy with coachwork by Scaglietti. One of approximately 80 long-nose, two-cam 275 GTBs factory-fitted with lightweight aluminium coachwork, it was delivered new in the striking factory colour combination of Giallo Fly over Bleu vaumol leather. Comprehensively restored and prepared for historic competition by leading experts, including the fitment of a six-Weber-carburettor induction system, the car is fully Ferrari Classiche certified, with its matching-numbers chassis, engine, and coachwork. Offered after 22 years of continuous ownership by the consigning owner, it is estimated at £1,175,000-£2,000,000.
Complimenting the GTB is a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS by Pininfarina, the 61st of 200 examples built and the seventh made of only 19 right-hand-drive cars. Delivered new to the United Kingdom via Maranello Concessionaires in July 1965, it is offered in its factory-correct colour combination of Rosso Cina over a Pelle Beige Connolly leather interior. Fully restored and retained by the vendor since 2012, it is certified by Ferrari Classiche and retain its matching-numbers chassis, engine, and gearbox (Estimate: £1,000,000 - £1,500,000).
