NEW YORK, NY.- Christie's announced Handbags Online: The September Edit, an online auction open for bidding September 8 – 18, accompanied by a public exhibition at Christie's Rockefeller Center headquarters from September 8 – 13 during NYFW alongside two exhibitions celebrating fashion's influence across film and history: The Auction Inside The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Bill Blass: American Elegance.

Unique stories abound, a group of vintages luggage that belonged to Ethel Clift McGinnis, the twin sister of Montgomery Clift, emblazoned with the monogram "E.M.C." (estimate: $12,000-15,000) and a set of two exceptionally well-preserved 1950s Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunks that were made for William A. M. Burden Jr. (estimate: $15,000 – 20,000). Burden served as President and later Chairman of MoMA, and U.S. Ambassador to Belgium from 1959 to 1961. Bearing Burden's initials, W.A.M.B., the trunks remain in remarkably original condition.
