The Oklahoma City Museum of Art announces New Board Chair, Board members
Lawrence Davis will serve a two-year term as Chair of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art Board of Trustees.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK.- The Oklahoma City Museum of Art announced the appointment of Lawrence Davis as its new Board Chair. Additionally, three community leaders have joined OKCMOA’s Board of Trustees.

Davis has supported OKCMOA for over two decades. He joined the Board of Trustees in 2022 and has since served as chair of the Audit Committee and on the Finance & Investment, Resource Development, and Collections, Exhibitions, & Film Committees. Davis, retired President and Managing Director of MAP Energy LLC’s Natural Gas Division, currently serves in the following leadership roles:

• Treasurer, Oklahoma Geological Foundation
• Board Member, Oklahoma City Philharmonic
• Board Member, St. Anthony Foundation
• President, Oklahoma Hillels

“The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is central to our city’s cultural landscape, and it's an honor to serve as Chair of its Board of Trustees,” Davis said. “As Chair, I am eager to support continued implementation of our Strategic Plan, including increasing the Museum’s endowment and refreshing our facilities as we continue to serve our community. The Museum has a unique opportunity to be a place of respite in a hectic world, and strengthening the ways art positively impacts people only makes that community larger, more diverse, and better connected through its shared humanity.”

The Museum’s Strategic Plan through 2028 can be found online at okcmoa.com/about-okcmoa. Increasing the Museum’s operational endowment by 100 percent by 2035—by leveraging naming rights opportunities and legacy giving—will work alongside a facility use plan that will help inform how best to renovate and refresh public and private spaces to create experiences that stand out among Oklahoma City attractions.

Three new board members were elected to each serve a three-year term, bringing diverse backgrounds in marketing, finance and business strategy. Listed below, their collective expertise will be instrumental in moving OKCMOA forward as the leading arts nonprofit in Oklahoma City:

• Caroline Hendee | Chief Investment Officer, Meade Investment Company
• Courtney Briggs Melton | Partner, Derrick & Briggs, LLP
• Scott Floyd Smith | Former Chief Executive Officer & Vice Chairman of the Board, MidFirst Bank
