LANSING, MI.- Inspired by a year-long project of the Greater Lansing Museums Collaborative featuring exhibitions and lectures on the theme of work and workers culture, the Kresge Art Museum and Michigan Historical Museum invited the youth of Michigan to head into their communities armed with cameras to answer the question What is work?. Young people between the ages of 10 and 18 were asked to capture photographs of people, places, and things that demonstrated their definition of work.
Now, twenty-five of these photographs have been selected for exhibition around the rotunda of the Michigan Library and Historical Center from April 23-May 4, 2007. These young photographers will be honored with a public reception at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th at the Michigan Historical Museum , where they will be on hand for an informal discussion of their artworks.
