SEATTLE, WA.- A 21-year-old artist from Asha, a small steelmaking town in Russia's Chelyabinsk Region, about 1000 miles east of Moscow, has been selected to exhibit at the 2026 Seattle Art Fair. In a remarkable achievement, eleven of the twelve Russian works chosen for display at TERAVARNA's booth are by Alina Khafizova (Алина Хафизова).

Khafizova is an independent artist who began drawing in childhood and developed her artistic practice from an early age. Creativity has long been part of her family background. Her brother, Marsel' Khafizov, is a professional artist and member of the Union of Artists of Russia, while her father also practiced drawing in his youth.

Her work spans gouache, watercolor, pencil, oil painting, and digital illustration.

In her traditional media, she explores everyday subjects—still lifes, animals, and quiet observations of the world around her.

Her digital illustrations, by contrast, feature expressive, character-driven imagery rooted in the visual language of classic hand-drawn animation. Drawing inspiration from Disney and Warner Bros. as well as Soviet animation, she brings the fluidity of animated characters, emotional clarity, and the warmth of handcrafted art into a contemporary digital context.

The Seattle Art Fair marks Alina Khafizova's second international art fair appearance of 2026. Earlier this year Khafizova also participated in the artBIAS IV exhibition in Budapest, Hungary, organized by TERAVARNA in collaboration with Golden Duck Gallery. Her works were submitted for jury review and selected for exhibition, where they were presented on digital screens at the gallery. The international jury included Catherine Varadi, director of Golden Duck Gallery, and Niladri Sarker, PhD, director of TERAVARNA.

Following her international exhibition in Budapest, Khafizova was invited to participate in the 2026 Seattle Art Fair. After submitting a selection of her works eleven pieces were approved for presentation. Khafizova's works were selected by TERAVARNA and will be exhibited at Booth D23 at the 2026 Seattle Art Fair, held at the Lumen Field Event Center in Seattle, Washington, from July 23 to 26, 2026.

The selection brings together different aspects of Khafizova's artistic practice, from traditional works depicting animals, nature, and everyday observations to more expressive and imaginative digital characters. The eleven selected works include digital works - The Night Owl, Masquerade Love, Femme Fatale, Mermaid, Electric Viper, Daytime Moon, works in gouache - A Kitten, Canada Geese Fishing, A Vase With An Apple, Rustic Lunch, and a pencil on paper - Stargazing.



For Alina, the Seattle Art Fair represents an opportunity to introduce her work to an international audience while continuing to develop her artistic practice across traditional and digital media.
