BERLIN.- Curatone.art, an international curatorial platform for visual artists, announces the launch of the Curatone Art & Research Journal, a peer-reviewed publication, registered at the German National Library (Deutsche Nationalbibliothek) under ISSN 3054-6621. The first issue of the journal presents eleven articles - from visual essays to expert interviews and research papers - written by authors from the USA, Canada, South Korea, Ukraine, and China.
The journal is managed by Elizaveta Akimova, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Curatone.art, and a ten-member international editorial board of professionals in various spheres, such as fine arts, fashion design, photography, and curation. Every article of the journal is peer-reviewed and archived on Zenodo (CERN) with individual DOIs, making it permanently accessible and searchable by academic search engines.
In addition to the debut of the new publication, Vol. 1, Issue 1 of which addresses topics such as feminist visual culture, the politics of domestic space, AI-generated art and authorship, sustainable fashion created from electronic waste, and tattooing as a contemporary artistic practice, the platform also announces the opening of its fifth international juried competition "Connections." Free to enter and submit your artwork to, the competition involves a $25 finalist fee. The winner will get the opportunity to receive $100 and the title of a Winner, while other finalists will be presented with official certificates and a professionally designed exhibition catalog on Amazon, with details about the process of selection. Every entry will go through a formal evaluation protocol and will be published online along with winners and finalists. The previous four competitions of Curatone.art involved artworks from over sixteen countries. Entries were evaluated by a panel of twelve judges awarded for their artworks and designs with Red Dot, Graphis, A' Design Awards, and Genoa Biennale.
