HONG KONG.- On 26 May 2026, the Magnificent Jewels auction in Hong Kong realised a market-leading sale total of HK$581,499,900 / US$74,207,005, marking strong growth of 55% year-on-year. The sale was 90% sold by lot, with a total hammer price 129% above the low estimate, and 72% of lots sold over high estimates. Passionate worldwide bidding across channels drove the results, demonstrating the exceptional demand in the global jewellery auction market.
The top lot of the sale, The Ethereal Jadeite Necklace, comprising 61 perfectly matched jadeite beads, measuring approximately 13.7 to 8.8 mm in diameter, drew multiple bids and sold for HK$200,200,000 / US$25,548,143, standing as the most valuable masterpiece sold in Asia this Spring. Top-tier jewels in the sale spanned jadeite, coloured and colourless diamonds, gemstones, natural pearls, and jewels from renowned maisons, reflecting the breadth of collecting tastes across Asia and Christie's unrivalled expertise in sourcing for the category (read the list of the top 10 lots sold). These include a 1.78-carat oval brilliant-cut fancy purplish red diamond brooch, which realised HK$39,540,000 / US$5,045,822; and a 3.17-carat rectangular step-cut fancy vivid pink diamond 'Trombino' ring by Bulgari, which realised HK$25,510,000 / US$3,255,410.
