Andrew Lloyd Webber to auction final cellar treasures
Bottles from one of the worlds most celebrated private wine collections.

LONDON.- Christie's presents Final Treasures from the Wine Cellar of Andrew Lloyd Webber, an online sale drawn from the distinguished private collection of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Offered directly from the collector's home, the sale marks the final release of wines from one of today's most celebrated private cellars.

All hammer proceeds will be donated to The Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST). MiSST is dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged students through music. It aims to close the achievement gap in both music and the wider curriculum by providing pupils in 37 secondary schools – all located in areas of significant deprivation - with musical instruments, weekly tuition, and a classical music curriculum known as The Andrew Lloyd Webber Programme. MiSST, part-funded by The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, has reached nearly 30,000 students to date. This sale will help reach over two thousand more.

Internationally renowned for his ground-breaking and memorable musicals – including Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Starlight Express, Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita – Lloyd Webber is also a discerning collector whose cellar has been carefully curated over decades. It comprises bottles, magnums and large formats from the most revered vineyards and finest vintages of the past century and beyond, each reflecting exceptional provenance and historic significance.

Collection Highlights

The collection demonstrates particular strength in Bordeaux, spanning historic and modern icons. Highlights include:

• Petrus 1989 (est. £10,000–15,000, 5 bottles)
• Petrus 1990 (est. £22,000–32,000, 11 bottles)
• Château d'Yquem 1949 (est. £1,200–1,700, 1 bottle)
• Château d'Yquem 1990 (est. £3,500–4,500, 12 bottles)

Burgundy is equally well represented, with wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, including:

• Romanée-Conti 2005 (est. £35,000–45,000, 3 bottles)
• Romanée St Vivant 2005 (est. £10,000–15,000, 6 bottles)
• La Tâche 1990 (est. £4,000–5,000, 1 bottle)

A superb selection of Pinot Noir also includes Domaine Rousseau, Trapet, Bouchard, Faiveley, Dujac, Clos de Tart, and Domaine d'Eugénie. White Burgundy is a particular strength, led by magnums of Domaine Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet 2005.

Other highlights encompass:

• Champagne: Dom Pérignon, Bollinger R.D., Cristal, Deutz
• Port, Sherry, and other sweet wines conclude the sale

Andrew Lloyd Webber commented: “I suppose this is the end of an era. These bottles are the last great wines from my cellars at Sydmonton Court. Some of them have been there over fifty years. The proceeds will go to the Music In Secondary Schools Trust. Music in schools is a subject dear to my heart. I am proud that I have supported nearly 30,000 children's musical education and given them their first musical instruments. This auction will educate many more.”

Charles Foley, Head of Sale at Christie's, added: “This remarkable collection is distinguished by its rarity, provenance and historical significance. Collectors worldwide will have the exceptional opportunity to acquire iconic wines, including Bordeaux such as the 1947 Cheval Blanc. We are equally proud that the sale will support The Music in Secondary Schools Trust and its vital work in disadvantaged schools across the UK, helping young people access the transformative power of music.”

The sale will be offered exclusively online via Christie's, with global bidding accessible throughout the sale period.
