PARIS.- On January 27, 2026, Artcurial Motorcars kicked off the Paris Classic Car Week by organizing, for the first time, the Automobile Legends auction at the prestigious Peninsula Paris. This auction, which featured a select range of classic cars, raised a total of €15M, once again confirming Artcurial Motorcars' position as a leader and its dynamism on the international market.

The Peninsula Paris garage, specially transformed for the occasion, hosted a four-day exhibition attracting car enthusiasts and collectors from around the world, showcasing a selection of rare and historic automobiles.

The auction, conducted by auctioneer Anne-Claire Mandine, assisted by Matthieu Lamoure and Pierre Novikoff, was a resounding success, driven by strong international participation and a selection of iconic models.

The highlight of this inaugural auction was the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL ‘Gullwing’, which sold for a spectacular €4,407,800, setting a new world record.

Another highlight of the auction was the Ferrari F92A Formula 1 car driven by Jean Alesi, which sold for €2,912,800. Motorsport enthusiasts also welcomed the auction of the 1989 Tyrrell 018 – Ford Cosworth DFR, the first Formula 1 single-seater driven by Jean Alesi, which sold for €834,400.

Among the French models, the Alpines particularly caught the attention of collectors. The iconic 1974 Alpine-Renault A110 SC, which belonged to Jean-Pierre Jabouille and was prepared to his specifications, set a world record at €178,800. A second world record was set for a 1992 Alpine A610 Olympique, from the extremely rare series produced for the Albertville Winter Olympics, which sold for €97,744. Finally, a 1968 Renault 4L convertible, which had remained in the same family since its inception, set a world record, selling for €95,360.

"Opening Paris Classic Car Week with the Automobile Legends sale at The Peninsula Paris sent a strong message: celebrating iconic classic cars in an exceptional setting. The results, marked by several world records and strong international participation, confirm the energy of the market and collectors' attachment to cars steeped in history and emotion." -- Matthieu Lamoure, President of Artcurial Motorcars
