SAN MARINO, CA.- The historic California Art Club (CAC) continues its exhibition series commemorating the Golden State’s 175th anniversary of statehood with Nature’s Bounty, opening Thursday, January 22, at the California Art Club Gallery at The Old Mill in San Marino.

Nature’s Bounty celebrates the richness of California’s incomparable natural resources and abundant farmland, highlighting their ability to provide nourishment, beauty, and inspiration. Featuring imagery spanning from the Sonoma Coast to San Diego, the exhibition presents a curated selection of nearly 30 contemporary-traditional paintings, including bountiful agricultural scenes, awe-inspiring landscapes, unexpected still lifes, and figurative works depicting people in dialogue with their environments.

Two free public events will mark the opening of the exhibition. CAC will host an opening reception with the artists on Thursday, January 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a Paint/Sculpt-Out and Family Day in the gardens of The Old Mill on Sunday, January 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the Family Day, visitors are invited to observe artists creating new works and participate in hands-on art-making activities.

“With the California Art Club’s founding in 1909, we share a profound connection to the Golden State’s artistic identity,” said Eire Hoke, exhibitions manager for the century-old organization. “For most of California’s history, our artists have been documenting its land, people, and way of life.”

“Our 'Celebrating California’s 175th' exhibition series underscores the enduring role CAC artists have played in visually preserving the state’s history for nearly 120 years,” Hoke added.

All works featured in Nature’s Bounty are available for acquisition, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the California Art Club’s educational programs. Following the opening, artwork from the exhibition will be available for online viewing at californiaartclub.org/naturesbounty.

Additional exhibitions in the Celebrating California’s 175th series include The American Road Trip, Sunset at Pacific’s Edge, and Flora Obscura, all to be presented at the California Art Club Gallery at The Old Mill. The series also includes the organization’s signature event, the 115th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, to be held this summer at the Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University in Orange, Calif.

Through this exhibition series, the California Art Club joins local governments, libraries, museums, and cultural organizations statewide in supporting California 175/America 250, a commemorative initiative marking both the 175th anniversary of California statehood and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
