PARIS.- For its 25th edition, the Prix Marcel Duchamp is being presented for the first time at the Musée dArt Moderne de Paris (MAM). The exhibition of the 2025 nominees has been curated by Julia Garimorth (Chief Curator and Head of Contemporary Collections, Musée dArt Moderne de Paris) and Jean-Pierre Criqui (art historian, critic, and curator in the Contemporary Collections Department, Musée National dArt Moderne Centre Pompidou).
Founded by ADIAF and organized since its inception in partnership with the Centre Pompidou, the Prix Marcel Duchamp is one of the most prestigious distinctions in the contemporary art world, with an endowment of 90,000. Since 2000, the Prize has honored numerous artists who have gone on to become major figures on the international scene. While the Centre Pompidou undergoes renovation, the Prix Marcel Duchamp exhibition is being hosted in constellation at the Musée dArt Moderne de Paris, which will welcome the event from 2025 through 2029.
The Four Nominees for the Prix Marcel Duchamp 2025 are:
Bianca Bondi born 1986 in Johannesburg, South Africa lives and works in Paris. Represented by Mor Charpentier (Paris).
Eva Nielsen born 1983 in Les Lilas, France lives and works in Paris. Represented by Galerie Peter Kilchmann (Paris/Zurich) and The Pill (Paris/Istanbul).
Lionel Sabatté born 1975 in Toulouse, France lives and works in Paris and Los Angeles. Represented by Ceysson & Bénétière (Paris, New York, Tokyo, Koerich, Lyon, Geneva, Saint-Étienne, Panéry).
Xie Lei born 1983 in China lives and works in Paris. Represented by Semiose (Paris).
The Prix Marcel Duchamp is a comprehensive support program for artists. Since its creation, ADIAF has organized around 50 exhibitions across France showcasing nominated and winning artists, and around 20 abroad with the support of the Institut Français. It also secures residencies for nominees through its partnerships in France with Sèvres - Manufacture and national museums, and in the United States with Villa Albertine.
The four nominees Bianca Bondi, Eva Nielsen, Lionel Sabatté, and Xie Lei present their work on the collections floor of the Musée dArt Moderne de Paris, with free admission from September 26, 2025 to February 22, 2026.
The winner of the 2025 edition will be announced on October 23, 2025, during Paris Art Week at MAM. The international jury is composed of museum directors, collectors and two artists.
