NEW YORK, NY.- Korean industrial designer Seung Keun Kim, based in the United States, has introduced Fuse, a personal blender that reimagines the way everyday appliances integrate into daily rituals. The project recently received a Silver Prize at the 2025 NY Product Design Awards and was also featured on DesignBooms readers page.
Fuse is designed to combine functionality with a sculptural form language. At the core of its design is a magnetic brushless motor system that connects to a magnetic coupler integrated into the blade base. By removing traditional mechanical locking components, the blender simplifies setup, improves safety, and maintains a clean silhouette.
The user interface consists of a curved touch panel that allows swiping across illuminated indicators for speed control, alongside preset options for quick use. A single on/off button ensures accessibility for all users. Compact in scale, the device is powerful enough to handle frozen ingredients quietly, making it suitable for both home and on-the-go lifestyles.
With Fuse, Kim set out to move beyond conventional appliance aesthetics, creating an object that feels at home in both the kitchen and the living space. The project reflects his broader design approach, which balances technical precision with an emphasis on intuitive, meaningful interaction.
