GHENT, BELGIUM.- Lineart will is being held in Hall 1 of the Flanders Expo exhibition centre in Ghent (Belgium), through December 5, 2006. The central hall, that thanks to a unique construction procedure is free of pillars, is the showpiece of Flanders Expo with a surface area of 19,152 m2. The Flanders Expo exhibition centre is ideally located at exit 14 of the E 40 motorway from Brussels to Ostend, near to the historic city centre of Ghent.

Lineart Kids Zone - Lineart has an area that welcomes our youngest art lovers (aged 3 to 12). This workshop area, where children are initiated into the art world in a playful and practical way geared to their age, is free and near to the entrance.

Lineart 2006 offers a forum to 150 gallery owners and dealers in ethnographic, modern and contemporary art. The Fortis Young Ones Award: This prize awarded by the public, made available by Fortis, rewards four young artists under the age of 30 with an individual exhibition on the fair’s floor. During the opening evening visitors can choose the artist whom they felt was the most interesting. The winning artist will receive an additional stimulus of € 500.

Museum Quarter: Eight individual exhibitions of eight current Belgian artists, selected by eight directors of Belgian museums. Lineart Playground: Ten individual exhibitions of international, up and coming artists under the age of 35. HISK@Lineart: Group exhibition of the work of former students of the HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts). Politics of Eros: An exhibition to stimulate the senses with international top works from Belgian private collections. Curator: Kurt Vanbelleghem. Belgium’s Calling: Fifteen international galleries for contemporary art present an individual exhibition of a Belgian artist. Lineart Video Wall: A permanent video wall with daily screenings.
