CHICAGO, IL.- Freemans | Hindmans July 1516 European Furniture & Decorative Arts auction features English and Continental furniture, sculpture, and decorative arts from the 17th to the early 20th century. Highlights include an impressive collection of paintings, sculpture, and clocks from a California collector; fine English furniture and mirrors from the Charlecote Antique Store in Kansas City, as well as a selection of striking rugs from a private collection.
The nucleus of this auction, a private California collection, is a cross section of several centuries worth of craftsmanship and extraordinary materials. The collector attended many auctions during the past decade and purchased with a most educated eye, quickly amassing an enviable variety of fine furniture and rare objects reminiscent of the Grand Tour. Corbin Horn, Senior Vice President, Head of Department, European Furniture & Decorative Arts.
