Christie's New York presents Contemporary Online sales |

NEW YORK, NY.- Christie's announces a series of Contemporary Online sales, beginning the first week of July. Together, the five sales comprise more than 500 lots in total, with rich offerings across a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, prints, sculpture, digital art, and more. The diverse selection presents examples from the most sought-after names in the market today, including Ed Ruscha, Helen Frankenthaler, M.C. Escher, Rashid Johnson, Daniel Arsham and Refik Anadol. With estimates starting at $100, the sales are a rare opportunity for both seasoned collectors and those embarking on their collecting journey. An exhibition of the artworks will be free and open to the public beginning July 12 at Christie's Rockefeller Center galleries in the heart of New York City.
Pressing Forward: Contemporary Editions from a Private Detroit Collection | 2 16 July
Sales begin July 2 with Pressing Forward: Contemporary Editions from a Private Detroit Collection, a sale featuring more than 75 prints and multiples made by many of the most compelling and important names in post-war and contemporary art. Leading highlights in the sale include works by Andy Warhol, George Condo, Jenny Holzer and Rashid Johnson.
Contemporary Edition New York | 2- 17 July
Also opening July 2 is Contemporary Edition: New York, which features nearly 200 post-war and contemporary prints and multiples from artists including Joan Mitchell, Alex Katz, Keith Haring, Wayne Thiebaud, Louise Bourgeois, and Nina Chanel Abney. The sale's leading highlight is The Book of HOV: A Tribute to JAY-Z, an exclusive Limited Edition of the collaborative project executed by Roc Nation, Assouline and Daniel Arsham in December 2024. This special Edition, of which there are only five copies, was made in recognition of the historic Brooklyn Public Library exhibition in celebration of Shawn JAY-Z Carter's career which ran from July to December 2023 and stands among the largest public installations in U.S. history. The Edition on offer is signed by JAY-Z and is the only copy of the five publicly available. It is estimated to achieve $100,000-150,000, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Brooklyn Public Library.

Anchoring the sale series is First Open, open for bidding July 3. First Open brings together an exemplary group of works by leading names in post-war and contemporary art, including Ernie Barnes, Jonas Wood, Alexander Calder, Friedel Dzubas, Helen Frankenthaler, Keith Haring, Mary Abbott, George Condo, Jack Whitten, Yu Nishimura, and more. Collection highlights include Property from the Collection of Samuel M. Kootz & Dr. Joyce Lowinson Kootz, Works from the Collection of Sir Anthony Caro, Property from the Collection of Peggy and Ralph Burnet, Love, Keith: Artwork from the Estate of Joan P. Haring, Property from an Important California Collection, and Property from the Joel and Carole Bernstein Family Collection.
M.C. Escher: The Art of Infinity Featuring Prints and Drawings Sold to Benefit the Robert Owen Lehman Foundation | 8 22 July
M.C. Escher: The Art of Infinity is the most significant offering of works on paper by Escher to come to market in decades. The sale presents more than 60 iconic prints and rarely seen drawings, many of which have seldom been at auction. The diverse selection includes important early depictions of the Italian landscape, preparatory studies for many of his well-known prints and a self-portrait of the artist, among many others. M.C. Escher: The Art of Infinity features a selection of prints and drawings from the Robert Owen Lehman Foundation, sold to benefit the Foundation's mission to promote the appreciation of classical music. The sale opens for bidding July 8.
A Goal in Life: Leo Messi x Refik Anadol | July 12 - 22
A Goal in Life is a one-of-a-kind digital artwork created by Lionel Messi and Refik Anadol, bringing together two global icons from the worlds of sport and contemporary art. For the first time, Messi has personally selected the most meaningful goal of his 20-year career his iconic 2009 Champions League Final header which Anadol has reimagined as an immersive AI-driven work blending art, memory, data and emotion. The result is a personal collaboration that invites viewers into a transformative experience of one of football's most unforgettable moments. Proceeds from the sale will benefit multiple nonprofits, including Inter Miami CF Foundation's global partnership with UNICEF, which supports access to quality education programs in five countries across Latin America and the Caribbean. The sale will open for bidding July 12.
