'Fractured Horizons': A Visionary Art Exhibition Coming to NYCxDESIGN Festival 2025

Global Call for Artists to Explore Post-Industrial Futures Through Multimedia Expression

Following exceptional reception in 2024, the innovative exhibition 'Fractured Horizons' returns to the prestigious NYCxDESIGN Festival in May 2025. This collaborative initiative by VSDesign, PI Art Center, and ALT Alliance invites creative minds worldwide to contribute works examining the intersection of industrial legacy and emerging ecological paradigms.

The exhibition will be presented from May 16–23, 2025, at PI Art Center's dual locations in New York and New Jersey, with a complementary online showcase extending through June 16 to reach international audiences.

Conceptual Framework: Examining Technological Evolution and Environmental Transformation

The 2025 edition explores three interconnected thematic pillars:

● "Heritage and Rupture"
● "The Horizon of Post-Human Cities"
● "Fragmented Narratives"

Participants are encouraged to investigate how technological advancements—particularly artificial intelligence and automation—alongside shifting ecological relationships are redefining traditional spatial constructs. The exhibition welcomes diverse artistic approaches, encompassing painting, photography, digital creation, three-dimensional works, and multimedia installations.

According to the exhibition jury: "Creative practitioners serve not merely as witnesses but as visionaries shaping tomorrow's landscape. This exhibition seeks to illuminate novel possibilities emerging from the fractures in our industrial civilization."

Submission Details and Artist Benefits

Enhanced Visibility in 2025: Selected contributors will gain international media exposure through prominent outlets including Associated Press, Digital Journal, and China Daily. Exceptional participants may receive priority consideration for a collaborative exhibition at the Penn Museum and qualify for endorsements from MUSE Creative Awards jurors.

Key Dates:

● Final Application Deadline: April 5, 2025
● Physical Exhibition: May 16–23, 2025
● Virtual Exhibition: May 16–June 16, 2025

Artists may submit up to two series (four images per series) across various mediums. A non-refundable processing fee of $30 applies to all submissions. Complete guidelines are available at: https://vsdsgn.com/exhibitionsubmissionform-opencall

Strategic Collaboration Opportunities

As an officially endorsed flagship program within NYCxDESIGN—which attracted over 115,000 visitors and 1,000 designers in 2024, with media reach exceeding 756 million—the SPOTLIGHT Showcase introduces an innovative platform for creative dialogue.

While 'Fractured Horizons' presents a comprehensive digital art exhibition, the SPOTLIGHT initiative will emphasize:

● "Artistic Innovation in the Age of AI"
● "Eastern Aesthetics in a Globalized Design Context"
● "Art, Therapy, and Educational Exploration"

This curated program aims to establish connections between artistic practice, technological advancement, commercial application, and humanities scholarship.

Organizations interested in strategic partnerships can collaborate with renowned creatives, designers, technology innovators, established brands, and leading media. The program features forums, presentations, workshops, and interactive sessions, with customized sponsorship packages allowing partners to engage with cutting-edge design discourse.
