HONG KONG.- Art Central and its long-standing partner, UOB, announce the tenth edition of Art Central, cementing its position as a cornerstone event of Hong Kong Art Week. Committed to nurturing Hong Kongs arts ecosystem and supporting artists and galleries from across Asia and beyond, Art Central 2025 will take place at its iconic Central Harbourfront location from 26 to 30 March 2025 (VIP Preview 25 March). Presenting a wide range of artwork and programming from Asias most cutting-edge galleries, along with mid-career and established artists, the Fair is set to be a cant-miss event for collectors and art lovers during Hong Kongs annual celebration of the arts, offering visitors an experience that fosters creativity through connection and engagement. Art Central 2025 is financially supported by the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.
Since its inception in 2015, Art Central has played a crucial role in nurturing Hong Kongs arts ecosystem by spotlighting emerging and established contemporary artists from Asia and beyond. With a focus on supporting galleries, the Fair is set to return with a distinguished, boundary-pushing platform, presenting the next generation of artists alongside those of global renown to local and international visitors on Asia's largest stage for arts and culture.
Alongside its long-running programme of talks, installations, video and performance art, Art Central will debut Legend in 2025, an initiative inviting participating galleries to showcase the work of one artist born before 1970 in a dedicated section of their booth, highlighting pioneering and lesser-known artists from earlier generations while exploring the connections in art-making from the past to the present. The Fair will also host ten galleries as part of Neo, a sector spotlighting first-year and second-year galleries at Art Central, showcasing new artists on the Fairs platform. Art Central 2025s gallery programmes will be curated by Europe-based curator and artist Enoch Cheng.
Fair Director of Art Central 2025, Corey Andrew Barr, said, In March 2025, we will return to the Central Harbourfront to present the tenth edition of Art Central, cementing our position as a cornerstone event of Hong Kongs Art Week and the regions art calendar. Im delighted to announce the introduction of Legend', a new gallery initiative highlighting established and under-appreciated artists which runs alongside Neo, our special sector for new galleries and artists presented at Art Central. As Hong Kong continues to demonstrate its importance as an international destination for arts and culture, we have faith that Hong Kong Art Week 2025 will be a success, and we look forward to playing a significant role in nurturing the local arts ecosystem once again.
Further details of Art Central 2025, including artists, galleries, talks, performances, partnerships and curatorial projects will be announced soon.
