NEW YORK, NY.- Asia Society Museum announced the addition of two talented professionals to its curatorial team. Kelly Ma joins the Museum as Curator of Learning and Outreach, while Inney Prakash takes on the role of Curator of Film. This evolution of the Museum team underscores the Museum’s mission to connect with a wider audience and enrich the cultural landscape of New York City.

These strategic additions reflect the Museum’s commitment to expanding its programming and deepening its engagement with the community. By enhancing its focus on education and film, the Asia Society Museum is not only broadening its curatorial scope but also fostering a more inclusive dialogue around Asian and Asian American narratives.

Kelly Ma, Curator of Learning and Outreach

Kelly Ma, returning to Asia Society after three years in Hong Kong, brings extensive experience in arts programming and international collaboration. Previously, she served as Deputy Director at Para Site and guest programmer at M+, where she developed dynamic public programs, including the Lars Nittve Keynote Lecture series. From 2013 to 2021, Ma held various roles at Asia Society Museum in New York, organizing forward-looking conferences for arts professionals and leading virtual arts programming during the Covid-19 pandemic. She has also managed global exhibitions for artist Cai Guo-Qiang as his studio staff. Ma holds a BA in History of Art and Architecture and Visual Art from Brown University and has contributed to notable publications, including Hidden Realms: Korean Artists Today (ArtAsiaPacific, 2024) and Great Women Painters (Phaidon, 2022).

Inney Prakash, Curator of Film

Inney Prakash, a film curator and critic originally from Detroit, Michigan, is the founder and director of Prismatic Ground, an avant-garde film festival in New York City. His previous roles include Co-Director of Programming at Maysles Documentary Center and Curatorial Lead for the San Diego Asian Film Festival. Prakash has also contributed to festivals like Sundance and SXSW. His writings have appeared in Filmmaker Magazine, Film Comment, and several other platforms, reflecting his deep engagement with the film community.

"We are delighted to welcome Kelly Ma and Inney Prakash to the Asia Society Museum team," says Yasufumi Nakamori, Director of the Asia Society Museum. "Their expertise and fresh perspectives will be instrumental in advancing our film, community outreach, and learning initiatives. With their contributions, we look forward to strengthening our role as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange, fostering connections across communities and disciplines."
