DALLAS, TX.- If Heritage Auctions October 3 Autumn Luxury Accessories Signature® Auction proves anything, its that good things really do come in small packages.
One prime example is the rare and highly coveted Hermès 20cm So Black Matte Alligator Midnight Faubourg Birkin Sellier Bag. First released in 2019 as a limited-edition bag, the Birkin 20 Faubourg, also known as the House Birkin, replicates the façade of Hermès flagship boutique at 24 Rue de Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. Crafted with Matte Alligator flaps, a Madame leather body, Swift leather window frames, Epsom leather glass and a Sombrero leather base, the petite handbag features Orange H Swift awnings and a mini Hermès shopping bag in place of the traditional clochette. In 2021, Hermès unveiled two new colors: Midnight and Snow. The Midnight version offered here is predominantly black with a Matte Alligator flap and black PVD hardware, only used once before in the brands coveted So Black collection.
The Faubourg is steadily becoming the must-have bag for connoisseurs and collectors, says Diane DAmato, Heritages Director of Luxury Accessories, Private Sales & The Boutique. The bag is not only spectacular, but its also extremely difficult to obtain from a boutique, regardless of ones spend history with Hermès.
Another diminutive delight is the Hermès Box Calf Leather Clouté Mini Kelly 20, which also pays tribute to Hermès flagship boutique. This modern take on a timeless classic is embellished with palladium studs. Its no coincidence that there are exactly 24 perfectly placed studs on the bags bottom row, echoing the address of the Parisian flagship, which was completed in 1924.
The auctions Hermès 20cm Black Niloticus Lizard Birkin Sellier Bag is also certain to attract collectors. Even rarer than its highly sought-after counterpart, the Niloticus Crocodile Birkin, the exquisite bag is crafted from one single, perfect skin, requiring unparalleled artistry to complete.
Since small bags continue to dominate the market, DAmato says, were delighted to offer a fabulous array of Hermès pochettes and Mini Kellys. Among the tiny treasures are the Violet Shiny Niloticus Crocodile Kelly Pochette and the Bleu Jean Epsom Leather Mini Kelly. The Violet Niloticus Crocodile is the color of royalty, and the Bleu Jean Mini Kelly is bathed in one of Hermès most popular hues. Since Bleu Jean is such a favorite, DAmato adds, were offering it in another superb bag: the limited-edition Swift Leather Kelly Danse Anate Bag with long fringe detailing.
Speaking of showstopping details, the Hermès Vert Comics Chevre Leather & Ostrich Feather Kelly Elan is another highly coveted and stunning find. This fantastic bag combines the classic styling of the beloved Kelly with the soft, luxurious flair of ostrich feathers in an unforgettable hue.
The auction also features a splendid assortment of Hermès and Chanel bags known as Negeens Collection. Amassed by the late collector Negeen Dehesh, the bags are not only lovely but also purposeful, as all proceeds from the collection will benefit the Negeen Foundation, a nonprofit organization Negeens mother, Guity Javid, created to help children and young adolescents suffering with mental health issues.
After Negeen died, I had to do something to carry on her legacy, to do something positive and good, says Javid. The goal is not only to fund research, but to figure out the best ways to help children and their families live healthy, happy lives.
Some of the highlights in Negeens Collection include the Hermès 35cm Bleu Nuit & Orange Poppy Birkin, the 35cm Raisin Clemence Leather Birkin, the 35cm Cocoan Shiny Porosus Crocodile Birkin and the petite, sophisticated Hermès Rouge H Kelly Pochette.
