A New Goliath for the Art World: Gander & White Adds 48-ft Tractor Trailer to Its Fleet of Art Freight Vehicles
Gander & White is among the few art shipping specialists in the United States to own their own trailers.

LONDON.- Gander & White, the world’s leading expert in the storage, transportation, and installation of high-value cultural objects, has launched a 48-ft tractor trailer that will facilitate its twice-monthly shuttle between California and New York. The colossal vehicle is among the best in the industry, having been built to Gander & White’s own specifications, and presents a new means of reliable and regular shipment between galleries, museums, and collectors situated on either coast.

Gander & White is among the few art shipping specialists in the United States to own their own trailers. Measuring 48ft long and with a capacity of 40,000lbs, the capabilities of this new addition to the Gander & White fleet are unparalleled. Equipped with temperature monitoring and a high-security alarm system, it has the capacity to transport precious and monumental objects across the country in a safe and secure manner. The tractor trailer will provide a biweekly shuttle service between Gander & White’s state-of-the-art facilities in Los Angeles and New York City, traversing each way a distance of 2,800 miles. It is available also for exclusive use – both regionally and nationally – and is manned on all journeys by a pair of Gander & White’s seasoned drivers who have their own sleeping quarters onboard, such that no shipment need be delayed.

George Lacovara, Director of Operations at Gander & White Los Angeles, comments:

“We are proud to add to our fleet this one-of-a-kind vehicle, which can perform incredible logistical marathons. The transcontinental art market has long appreciated the white glove service we provide at Gander & White, and the launch of our 48-ft tractor trailer represents a milestone in the art shipping industry.”
