PARIS.- Entitled Timeless Innovation – Innovation Intemporelle, Beck & Eggeling International Fine Art and Priska Pasquer Paris will present their latest exhibition in Paris featuring works by Pablo Picasso in dialogue with four contemporary artists: Leiko Ikemura, Radenko Milak, Aljoscha, and Zohar Fraiman. The exhibition will take place from October 12 to November 10, 2024, in the Marais, close to the Picasso Museum. The concept of timelessness in art is both elusive and powerful. It refers to works that transcend their epoch, addressing universal truths and emotions that resonate across generations. The exhibition Timeless Innovation – Innovation Intemporelle approaches this idea by presenting the works of Pablo Picasso and juxtaposing them with those of Leiko Ikemura, Aljoscha, Radenko Milak, and Zohar Fraiman, each of whom challenge the conventions of their time and redefine the boundaries of contemporary art in their own unique ways. The exhibition offers an exciting opportunity to experience Picasso’s works alongside the work of contemporary artists, discovering the diversity and richness of various artist generations. The premises are located at 6 rue des Coutures Saint-Gervais in the Marais district of Paris, right next to the Picasso Museum.

Pablo Picasso - The Pioneer of Modern Art

Pablo Picasso is renowned for his revolutionary contributions to modern art. His ability to innovate and reinvent himself across different periods and styles, from the Blue Period and the Rose Period to Cubism and Surrealism, demonstrates his unparalleled creative genius. Picasso’s works not only reflect the times he lived through but are also prophetic, often influencing future artistic movements. For instance, his masterpiece "Guernica" is not only a powerful political statement about the horrors of war but also a lasting symbol of human suffering and resilience.

Leiko Ikemura - Bridging Cultures and Spiritual Worlds

The Japanese artist Leiko Ikemura brings a deeply spiritual and transformative perspective to her art. Her works often depict ethereal landscapes and figures that seem to be in a state of metamorphosis, connecting the earthly and cosmic realms. Ikemura's artworks are a meditation on existence, exploring themes such as birth, growth, and the interconnectedness of all life. Her ability to merge Eastern and Western artistic traditions results in a unique visual language that is both contemporary and timeless, addressing universal themes of nature and spirituality.

Aljoscha - Bioethics and Futuristic Art

The work of the Ukrainian artist Aljoscha sits at the intersection of art, science, and philosophy. His concept of Bioism, which envisions the creation of new life forms through art, challenges traditional notions of biology and aesthetics. Aljoscha’s sculptures and installations, often made from synthetic materials, explore the possibilities of a future where art and science converge to create new ethical paradigms. His visionary approach invites viewers to contemplate the implications of genetic engineering and biotechnology, expanding the boundaries of what art can be and its role in shaping the future.

Radenko Milak - Imagined Reality

The 44-year-old Bosnian artist Radenko Milak uses the medium of watercolor to reflect on historical and contemporary events and place them in an expanded context. His art is a poignant commentary on the power of images in shaping our collective memory and understanding of history. By recreating scenes from photojournalism, film, and archival material with the technique of watercolor, Milak blurs the lines between documentation and artistic interpretation. His works provoke critical reflection on political and environmental crises, urging viewers to reconsider the narratives presented by mass media and explore the deeper layers of meaning behind these images.

Zohar Fraiman - Digital Culture and Traditional Narratives

Zohar Fraiman was born in 1987 in Israel. Her vibrant, narrative-driven paintings explore the intersection between fairy tales, art history, and digital culture. Her works address themes such as identity, gender, and the pervasive influence of digital media on contemporary life. Fraiman’s use of bright, candy-colored palettes and familiar cultural references creates a playful yet thoughtful dialogue between old and new. Her art invites viewers to reflect on the stories we tell ourselves and how these narratives are reshaped in the digital age.

Thematic Unity and Divergence

Despite their diverse backgrounds and artistic approaches, Picasso, Ikemura, Aljoscha, Milak, and Fraiman share a common commitment to pushing the boundaries of art. They all address themes that are deeply personal and universally significant, exploring the complexities of human existence, memory, and the future. Their works invite viewers to engage with art on various levels, offering both aesthetic pleasure and intellectual challenge.

The exhibited artists also work with various materials, techniques, and media. The spectrum ranges from installations to painting, gouaches, watercolors, inks, drawings, linocuts, etchings, lithographs, and ceramics.
