NEW YORK, NY.- Rachel Lehmann and David Maupin announced the promotion of Alexis Rose to Senior Director, based in New York.

Over the past six years, Rose has been instrumental in supporting Lehmann Maupin’s global sales team and artist development by serving as a liaison to several of the gallery’s artists, including McArthur Binion, Loriel Beltrán, Lari Pittman, Arcmanoro Niles, and Billie Zangewa. In addition to providing strategic guidance to these artists, Rose has introduced many new collectors and curators to the gallery’s program, particularly from the West Coast region, where she has strong roots in the arts industry. These relationships have resulted in numerous global museum acquisitions and the placement of primary and secondary works in prestigious private collections around the world. In her new position as Senior Director, Rose will continue to work closely with the gallery’s global sales team to cultivate new and existing client relationships and will continue to serve as an artist liaison, fostering new opportunities for the gallery’s artists and identifying new talent.

Rose has over a decade of experience working in the commercial arts industry. Prior to joining Lehmann Maupin, Rose served as Senior Director and East Coast Director of the Los Angeles-based Night Gallery. She has also held sales and artist liaison positions at Andrea Rosen Gallery, David Zwirner, and Hauser & Wirth. In addition to her gallery experience, she worked as a studio assistant to Sterling Ruby and to the late Betty Woodman.

“Alexis is an invaluable member of our team,” says Rachel Lehmann. “She has nurtured important relationships with our artists, providing strategic guidance and support on a number of commercial and institutional initiatives, and has cultivated very important collector and museum connections. We’re so grateful for her hard work and dedication over the years and are very pleased to see her step into this new role as we look to the future of Lehmann Maupin.”

“I am thrilled to continue to support the gallery’s incredible artists and ambitious program in this new role. Over the past six years, I’ve witnessed the gallery’s global expansion and feel very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish as a team—from the opening of our Seoul gallery, to our most recent seasonal space in Milan, to major artist exhibitions and installations at the Guggenheim, Site Santa Fe, the Tate Modern, the Long Museum and more. It has been truly an honor to support the growth of numerous artists through facilitating these opportunities—I am grateful to be part of Lehmann Maupin’s history as the gallery nears its 30th anniversary!”
