HONG KONG.- Christie’s has officially announced that sales at its new Asia Pacific headquarters at ‘The Henderson’ building in Hong Kong will commence on 26 and 27 September 2024 with 20th and 21st Century Art, followed by a series of Luxury sales in October, and Asian Art sales in November. The inaugural sales will unveil the premier, one-stop hub for art and luxury to the world and kick-start a dynamic new year-round calendar of sales, exhibitions, and events. Further details will be announced in the coming months.

Francis Belin, President, Christie’s Asia Pacific commented: “In a matter of months, Christie’s new Asia Pacific headquarters at The Henderson will open to the world – a year-round and unified art and luxury destination alongside Christie’s at Rockefeller Centre in New York, King Street in London, and Avenue Matignon in Paris. The curation of our inaugural sales is underway and promises to be an unmissable event in the market. We are looking forward to introducing global collectors and enthusiasts to our new home this September.”

The transformational relocation of Christie’s Asia Pacific headquarters to The Henderson comes in response to Asia’s global market demand, affirming Christie’s leadership in and commitment to the region. The Henderson is a world-class, new urban landmark in Hong Kong designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid architects. At this new anchor home, Christie’s will elevate its offering in Asia through year-round art and luxury sales and programmes.

With 50,000 square feet spanning the 6th to the 9th floors of the building, Christie’s Asia Pacific headquarters will be a one-stop hub for art and luxury, housing a state-of-the-art saleroom, galleries, a dedicated client hub, and offices. Poised to deliver an unparalleled client experience, Christie’s will be ideally placed to connect and better serve collectors in Asia and beyond through this new space and its unrivalled global network of salerooms and specialists.

The signature state-of-the-art galleries are innovatively designed to be easily transformed for any event, including museum-quality exhibitions, exclusive client engagements, private sales, and educational programmes. Featuring high ceilings and a pillarless floorplan, the galleries have the flexibility to spectacularly display a diverse range of art and luxury objects.

The sophisticated, high-tech, sustainable design of Christie’s space and The Henderson building supports Christie’s global commitment to conduct business responsibly for the environment. The Henderson has been pre-certified for numerous green and healthy building awards, promising to positively impact and transform many areas across Christie’s business.
