ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.- The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art announced the appointment of Lise Dube-Scherr as its Deputy Director for Art & Education, starting on May 20, 2024. With an extensive background in art and historic house museum management, Dube-Scherr brings over 20 years of expertise to her new role at the museum. She will lead efforts to elevate the museums exhibitions and educational programming, enriching the visitor experience and developing programming that cements The James Museum as a cultural and community hub in Tampa Bay and the Southeast.
Dube-Scherrs arrival completes The James Museums senior leadership team, joining Deputy Director for Development & Communications Debbie Sokolov and Deputy Director for Finance & Operations Jeremy Gray. Together, they will advance the museums mission to provide transformative art and educational opportunities that reflect the rich heritage of the American West.

Known for her strategic leadership and innovative approach, Dube-Scherr has a strong track record of enhancing visitor engagement and operational success across prestigious institutions. She recently served as the Dean of Continuing and Professional Studies at the Delaware College of Art and Design. She has garnered a reputation for her inclusive approach to museum management and community engagement, highlighted by her extensive experience working with diverse cultural and historical collections. Her previous roles have seen her effectively integrate art and education to create impactful visitor experiences that engage a broad audience spectrum. Dube-Scherr's leadership at institutions like International Arts & Artists and The Richard H. Driehaus Museum has been marked by significant increases in both visitation and community involvement. Her efforts have consistently focused on enhancing the educational reach and curatorial excellence of the museums she has served, making her a valuable addition to The James Museum team as they continue to explore new ways to connect with the community and expand their offerings.
