MILAN.- Palazzo Reale, Dolce&Gabbana and IMG today opened ‘From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana’, the first ever exhibition of the fashion house’s one-of-a-kind creations, that tells the artistic and creative story of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

The exhibition launched at Palazzo Reale in Milan, where it will be open to the public from Sunday 7 April to Wednesday 31 July, and will be followed by an international tour of some of the world’s most prominent cultural centers.

Curated by Florence Müller, promoted by the Municipality of Milan - Culture and produced by Palazzo Reale and global events leader IMG, ‘From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana’ is an unprecedented exhibition project that pays tribute to the values of Fatto a Mano (hand-made), which have been essential to Dolce&Gabbana since its founding. The exhibition forms a narrative that follows the dreams of Alta Moda and explores the sources of inspiration that have shaped the mind and hands of the two founders of the fashion house: from a passion for Italian culture, to the love of traditional craftsmanship reimagined with a contemporary eye. ‘From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana’ also features work by visual artists in dialogue with Dolce&Gabbana’s celebrated designs.

The exhibition unfolds in a series of themes that highlight the multitude of cultural references that have inspired the work of these two designers: these include artisanal craft, visual arts and architecture, Italy and its traditions, innovation, theatre, music, Opera, Ballet and la dolce vita.

Born in 1984, Dolce&Gabbana is one of the leading luxury and fashion brands in the world. Its founders, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, have always been the creative and stylistic source of all of the brand’s activities, as well as the drivers behind the development strategies. As the ultimate expression of Italianness, the Group creates, produces and distributes apparel, leather goods, footwear, accessories, fragrances and cosmetics, watches and fine jewelry and its one-of-a-kind Alta Moda creations. It is also present in the segments of Lifestyle and furnishing collaborations.
