BOSTON, MASS.- A rare and perfectly graded Steve Jobs-signed Apple Computer business card from circa 1983 has fetched an astounding $181,183 at Auction, according to Boston-based
RR Auction. The sale is believed to be a world record price achieved for a signed business card.
The highly coveted circa 1983 Apple Computer business card of Steve Jobs, adorned with his neatly placed signature, embodies the essence of a pivotal era in computing. The off-white card features the iconic 'rainbow' version of the Apple 'byte' logo and identifies Jobs as the "Chairman Board of Directors." The card also bears the company's address and contact information from the time: "10260 Bandley Drive, Cupertino, California 95014, (408) 996-1010." Despite a faint stain on the front from an old tape residue on the back, the card has been encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "GEM MT 10," ensuring its pristine condition.
Before this sale, RR Auction had only offered 10 Steve Jobs business cards, with just one dating to circa 1983. This particular Apple Computer business card, a true gem from that elusive time frame, is further accentuated by the rarity of Jobs's signature. Less than five Jobs-signed Apple Computer business cardsfrom any periodhave successfully passed PSA/DNA authentication, making this Auction a unique opportunity for collectors.
"The sale of the Steve Jobs-signed Apple business card for over $180,000 sets a new standard in autographed business cards. It's a testament to the enduring legacy of Jobs and the profound impact of Apple on our modern world," said Bobby Livingston, Executive VP at RR Auction.
