Empowering Creativity: The Journey of Stasia Lev and Stasias Gallery

In the bustling city of Chicago, amidst the vibrant art scene, Stasia Lev stands out as a beacon of creativity and entrepreneurship. As the founder and owner of Stasias Gallery, Stasia has carved a path as an art entrepreneur, championing emerging artists and fostering a sense of community within the art world.

Stasia's journey as an art entrepreneur has been marked by both triumphs and challenges. One of her notable career highlights includes the founding of Stasias Gallery, a space that has become synonymous with creativity and collaboration in the Chicago art scene. Her dedication to supporting emerging artists and providing them with opportunities for growth has earned her recognition and admiration from both the local community and beyond.

Born Anastasiia Vasileva in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Stasia's journey to becoming an art gallery owner is one of determination and passion. After obtaining her Masters in Graphic Design, she found herself in Shanghai, China, where she honed her skills as a painter and artist. However, it was upon moving to Chicago with her family that Stasia truly found her calling.

Enrolling in the MFA program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Stasia realized her dream of opening her own art gallery. Stasias Gallery is not just a space for exhibitions; it's a hub for artists to come together, share experiences, and support each other. Stasia prioritizes the vision of every artist she represents, ensuring that their work is showcased in the best possible light.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Stasia's approach is her commitment to collaboration and community building. She believes in giving back to the local community by providing gallery space for exhibitions and sharing profits with artists. Through these collaborations, Stasia not only supports emerging talent but also
fosters growth for her own gallery.

Looking ahead, Stasia has ambitious plans for the future of Stasias Gallery. She envisions expanding her reach to Shanghai, China, to represent American-based artists and provide them with opportunities for international exposure. Additionally, she plans to establish an art residency in China, offering artists a space to create, travel, and gather inspiration.

Stasia's story is one of resilience, creativity, and unwavering determination. She is a true inspiration to female entrepreneurs everywhere, proving that with smart time management and a desire to succeed, anything is possible. Through her gallery, Stasia is not just building a business; she's building a community, one artist at a time.

However, Stasia's path to success has not been without obstacles. She recalls facing rejection when applying for the MFA program multiple times, but she refused to give up on her dreams. With unwavering determination and a clear vision of her goals, Stasia overcame these challenges and emerged stronger than ever.

One of the most valuable lessons Stasia has learned on her journey is the importance of resilience and perseverance. She believes that success is not defined by one's accomplishments but by one's ability to overcome obstacles and continue moving forward. Stasia's story serves as a testament to the power of determination and the belief that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.

As Stasia looks to the future, she remains focused on expanding the reach of Stasias Gallery and providing even more opportunities for artists to thrive. She envisions participating in prestigious art fairs such as Chicago Expo and Basel, further establishing her gallery as a hub for creativity and innovation.

In addition to her business aspirations, Stasia is also committed to giving back to the community and inspiring others to pursue their passions. She believes that her story is inspirational for the female public, showing that it is possible to have it all with smart time management and desire.

Overall, Stasia Lev's journey as an art entrepreneur is a testament to the power of creativity, resilience, and unwavering determination. Through her gallery, she has not only created a space for artists to showcase their work but also a community where creativity flourishes and dreams are realized. As she continues to pursue her passions and inspire others, Stasia's impact on the art world will undoubtedly be felt for years to come.

Inside//Outside: Stoodio x Stasias March Show

Stasias Gallery is proud to present the Inside//Outside exhibition in collaboration with Stoodio. Located in the heart of Chicago, this exhibition delves into the complexities of perception and reality through abstract art.

Drawing inspiration from the words of Czesław Miłosz, the exhibition invites viewers to question the nature of reality and the politics of navigating a shared understanding. Through a diverse range of works, artists explore the blurred lines between abstraction and representation, inviting viewers to interpret reality on their own terms.

Featured artists include Dale Pesmen, whose expressive drawings and paintings blur the boundaries between figuration and abstraction. Sheri Rush's large-scale abstract works poetically depict the spiritual power of the natural world, drawing inspiration from a view outside a bus window during the 2017 Women’s March in Washington DC.

Gwen Yen Chiu presents drawings and sculptures that pay homage to her Taiwanese American heritage, while Paarshav Shah's sculpture, Darkstar, abstracts architectural language to explore mathematical principles and multidimensional models of physics.

Ellen Holtzblatt's landscapes serve as allegories for the psyche and emotions, capturing the power and vulnerability of the mind and soul. Notably, her portrait of her 100-year-old mother, As One That Found Peace, poignantly encapsulates the theme of the exhibition, standing precisely at the line between inside and outside.

Inside//Outside promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of reality, perception, and the power of abstract art to transcend boundaries and evoke emotion. Join us at Stasias Gallery as we celebrate the intersection of art and introspection in this captivating exhibition.
