ALAMEDA, CA.- Michaans Auctions March Annex Sale, held on Monday, March 11th; Tuesday, March 12th; and Wednesday, March 13th; generated a 94% sell-through rate as Michaans Auctions realized another successful sale for its consigners.
The sale was headlined by Lot 2124 and Lot 2113, two Eight BrumBurger Slide Case Units with Negative Images which sold for $4,550 and $3,250 after intense bidding inspired by the inclusion of negatives by Gordan Holler drove the value well over the estimated $3/500. Another highlight from the Furniture Department, a Country Work Table with Drawer exceeded expectations, eventually reaching a final price of $2,340. Further highlighting the quality of furniture pieces at Michaans Auctions, the Asian Art Departments Lot 2160 was a highly successful inclusion, as the Display Cabinet with Sliding Doors drove frenzied bidding, causing the final price to reach $1,690.
The Fine Art Department had another successful auction, led by Three Framed Artworks after Johann Berthelsen, which reached $2,340 as Lot 972. Lot 1407, Theodore Roosevelt, Photo of Teddy on Horseback was another popular item, with bids culminating at $1,430, while Lot 1697, Ethel Shearer, Meadowsweet Farm Dairy, framed oil realized $1,235. Concluding our sale was the Noel Rockmore, Portrait, oil on canvas painting as Lot 2098 in the sale, which achieved a final price of $1,235.
