Upon entering the gallery, you will be embraced by the warm glow of several fires, casting enchanting shadows that dance across the canvas. The canvases on display radiate with the essence of a bonfire scene, where spirits and souls come together in perfect harmony.

Rooted in Salem is a dynamic platform that aims to amplify the voices of talented and inspired artists by providing them with a captivating space to showcase their work. Located in the enchanting landscapes of upstate New York, our gallery is nestled in a neighborhood that pulsates with the fusion of art, culture. Owner Pearl Cafritz, As a consummate student of art, her diverse background in exhibit installation and art handling took her to museums like The Guggenheim, The American Museum of Natural History, The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and The Whitney. Pearl has also been an art world entrepreneur, starting her own art handling company inspired by the Art Basel scene in Miami, Florida. In recent years, she’s brought her skills back to Upstate New York at the prestigious art center destination---Salem Art Works. There, she was the Executive Director while helping shape the new voices of fine art in the region. Now her new venture is Rooted in Salem - a contemporary gallery.

Zack Lobdell

Zack Lobdell’s prolific work reaches back over 20 years. Never settling into a single style or medium, he believes the keys to creativity and inspiration are exploration, experimentation and consistent evolution. Zack’s work has been collected, exhibited and represented internationally, including Singapore, London, Miami, New York City and throughout the United States. He can be found in his home and studio in Washington County New York, uncovering his next exciting movement.
