LOS ANGELES, CA.- Subliminal Projects is now presenting Boundless/Binding, a group exhibition presenting works by globally-based Middle Eastern female artists, curated in collaboration with Emergeast, an online gallery championing artists shaping a new narrative in the Middle East and North Africa, founded by Dima Abdul Kader and Nikki Meftah.
Boundless/Binding emerges as a compelling examination of the shifting narratives that shape our understanding of identity and belonging. Woven together through the tapestry of self and tradition, each artist is socioculturally bound, and limitless in their unique creative expression. The exhibition serves as a catalyst for dialogue and reflection, a space where the female perspective is celebrated and empowered, in a time of profound social and political transformation throughout the Middle East.
The artists in Boundless/Binding exemplify in their work what I consider to be arts most profound potential; its ability to captivate visually with beauty and power while also sharing a unique social and cultural point of view. Im proud that Subliminal Projects can showcase the array of styles and voices that comprise Boundless/Binding. -Shepard Fairey

SUBLIMINAL PROJECTS
Subliminal Projects is a multi-functional project space and gallery established by Shepard Fairey and Blaize Blouin in 1995 as a way to introduce skateboard culture and design to the art world. The concept grew and found roots later in Los Angeles, at a time when many artists found themselves shut out by the art scene. Subliminal Projects emerged as a gallery that championed emerging and marginalized artists, built out of cultural importance to serve as a center for the community to openly express and spark dialogue about art, music, and activism. Now located in the historic neighborhood of Echo Park, Subliminal Projects continues to offer a platform for artistic exploration and innovation.
