ALAMEDA, CA.- Michaans Auctions January Gallery Auction, held on Friday, January 19th realized a strong sell-through rate as Michaans Auctions orchestrated another successful sale for its cosigners.
The sale was headlined by a 1955 Ford Thunderbird which sold for $20,910, and an elegant collection of Twelve R. Wehsener Dresden Porcelain Cabinet Cup Set, which reached $9,840. Two paintings by Old Masters, the Michele Pace Del Campidoglio, Still Life and the Studio of Giovanni Paolo Panini, Ruins Landscape each achieved
$6,765. The jewelry department had another strong showing with a Cartier Santos Tank Two-Tone Wristwatch reaching $5,535, while a Jadeite Jade, Diamond, 18k White Gold Ring sold for $3,997.50. The Asian Art Deparment was led by A Chinese Rectangular Bronze Relief Censer, selling for $5,842.50 and a Group of Five Chinese and Japanese Bronze Figures, which sold for $5,535.
The February Gallery Auction will be held on Friday, February 16th. This auction is led by the Jewelry Department, which features an Unmounted Pear-Cut 2.45 cts. Colorless Diamond ($10/15,000), and an Unmounted Pear-Cut 2.96 cts. Colorless Diamond ($10/15,000). Two Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Statues of Lamas ($2/3,000) and a Pair of Chinese Cloisonne Censers with Covers ($2/3,000) from the Asian Art Department. Also featured are an Antique J.T. Dickman Clown Cast Iron Carnival Shooting Target ($5/8,000), a Miguel Ortiz Berrocal, Romeo and Juliet, brass sculpture ($2/4,000), and a Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Horse Racing Trophy ($2/3,000).
