BAKERSFIELD, CA.- The Bakersfield Museum of Art presents the photography of Milton Goldstein in a retrospective exhibit. Known for his images of the National Parks, Goldstein’s photography captures the majestic beauty of the west. Goldstein was born in 1915 and held a career as an accountant before becoming a tax lawyer. He was in his 50s when he took his first trip to Yosemite National Park, which changed his life; for he was captivated by the beauty of the mountains and it was there he found a passion for photography.

During his photographic career, Goldstein captured Yosemite, Zion, and Yellowstone National Parks as well as the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon through the lens of his camera. His impressive career as a photographer began with a one-man show in the Smithsonian Institution that also traveled to 39 American cities. In addition, his photographs of Yosemite and the Grand Canyon were published in two books titled The Magnificent West. Goldstein and his wife, Martha, moved to Utah in 1984 where they lived together, photographing the beautiful scenery until 1998. Goldstein passed away in 2000, but his legacy continues to be shared through the stunning photographs he created. His works have also been displayed in museums and galleries in the Western United States.
