LOS ANGELES, CA.- Abigail Ogilvy Gallery has announced a new, second location in Los Angeles, CA, slated to open this fall. The expansion from Boston to Los Angeles marks an important moment for the gallery to establish a bi-coastal presence in the west coast’s contemporary art center, presenting a program that adapts the traditional gallery model to showcase collaborative perspectives. AOG x LA is committed to providing much-needed space and resources to curators and artists at all stages of their careers. An opening reception for the inaugural exhibition will take place on Saturday, September 16th, 2023.

Abigail Ogilvy Gallery has operated in Boston since 2015, exhibiting local and international artists, including Katrina Sánchez, Austin Eddy, and Alex McClay. Now ready to grow their mission and reach, the gallery is excited to open their first west coast location in Downtown Los Angeles. They plan to build connections and support the local community in Los Angeles through community events and engagement. They will also be extending the AOG internship program to their West Coast space where they will continue to mentor aspiring artists, curators, and gallerists.

With 2,500 square feet, the gallery will provide a collaborative model that aims to share new and diverse perspectives of those we work with: artists, curators, collectors, and other art world professionals, both emerging and established. The gallery aims to push back against traditional, outdated models of operating in isolation, and instead hopes to harness the strength that the industry possesses when people work together across space, disciplines, and backgrounds.

AOG x LA’s gallery program will solely feature guest curation as means to bring new perspectives and connections, providing the curators a new platform to share their vision with Los Angeles and the greater art market.

The gallery program primarily features guest curators in order to share diverse perspectives and voices with the Los Angeles area and the greater art market. Owner Abigail Ogilvy Ryan founded the Boston gallery in 2015 and opened the LA location in 2023. AOG is committed to showing a wide range of artistic ideas and media.
