NEW YORK, NY.- Phillips is pleased to announce highlights ahead of the London Evening & Day Editions auction on 7 and 8 June, the second auction to be held in Phillips London Editions Department’s tenth anniversary year. Highlights include an important group of fabric works from artists including Grayson Perry, Damien Hirst, Louise Bourgeois, and Tracey Emin. The Evening Sale will be led by Andy Warhol’s unique trial proof of Alexander the Great and two Marilyn screenprints, along with Pop Art by Keith Haring and Robert Indiana. Further highlights include Contemporary Street Art from the likes of Banksy and an auction debut for Thierry Noir’s East Side Heads, which will be offered alongside significant Pablo Picasso linocuts and lithographs. Comprised of over 290 lots, this carefully curated selection will be offered across two days, with the Evening Sale on 7 June at 5pm and the Day Sale on 8 June at 12pm. The sales are now live online on Phillips.com and the preview exhibition will be on view to 7 June in Phillips’ galleries on Berkeley Square.

Rebecca Tooby-Desmond, Specialist, Head of Sale, Editions, and Auctioneer, said “We are delighted to present the second auction in the tenth anniversary year of Phillips’ Editions Department here in London. Our June offering showcases Phillips’ commitment to presenting the very best editions from the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as celebrating artists who push the boundaries of traditional printmaking. We are particularly excited to present a group of fabric works including monumental tapestries, quilted collage, and works on cotton, which demonstrate the radical power of texture and material in edition making. From Pablo Picasso’s linocuts and lithographs, through Andy Warhol’s Pop Art portraits to Banksy and Thierry Noir’s screenprints, our auction showcases the very best across Modern and Contemporary printmaking, demonstrating the joy of collecting across categories and time periods. For the first time we will also be offering a standalone online auction of David Shrigley prints and works on paper from 7 to 14 June, immediately after our live sale, with a live screenprinting workshop in collaboration with Jealous Gallery. It has been an extraordinary and exciting decade for us, and we look forward to continuing the celebrations with collectors and fellow printmaking enthusiasts as we open the doors to the preview in our Berkeley Square galleries.”
