LONDON.- Londons newest arts and cultural destination,
Ladbroke Hall, will unveil its abundant offering in stages this spring and summer. The historic building has been reimagined as a meeting place for artistic expression. Eager to welcome the public, visitors are invited to engage in a taster of its contemporary art, collectible design, music, theatre and film programme and the opening of its restaurant. Its restoration and expansion include contributions from leading artists, designers and architects such as Sir David Adjaye OBE, Sir Christopher Le Brun PPRA, Ingrid Donat, Nacho Carbonell, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Luciano Giubbilei, Nicolas Schuybroek, Robert Stadler, Michèle Lamy and Rick Owens.
On 28 April, Carpenters Workshop Gallerys new London flagship gallery, situated across the east wing of Ladbroke Hall, will open with two coinciding inaugural exhibitions. One will premiere Sir David Adjayes latest body of collectible design and the other presents a museum-quality exhibition dedicated to the late Brazilian designer Jose Zanine Caldas. The new gallery space spans across two floors, including four large exhibition rooms, two artist-designed, private salons by Ingrid Donat and Vincenzo De Cotiis, a private terrace by Robert Stadler and a dedicated showroom for Carpenters Workshop Jewellery.
From June onwards, Ladbroke Hall will gradually unfurl its west wing with a taster of its vibrant cultural programme of the most cutting-edge talent across music, theatre, film, dance, art and collectible design with some of its programme pertaining to the local community. It will also premiere Bufifialo: Future Generation a photography exhibition by local resident Jamie Morgans latest body of work from 28 June 2 July.
Ladbroke Hall will also be gearing up to establish numerous distinct weekly music series across a breadth of musical genres. It will share a sample of its programming in the summer, showcasing fast-emerging jazz artists, the most exciting young talent taking on the classics and intimate unplugged sessions dedicated to emerging and established musicians. A portion of the proceeds from the launch programme will be donated to local grassroots youth and music organisations reflecting the rich diversity and needs of the community. Further information on our community support initiatives will be announced in due course.
Ladbroke Halls restaurant, led by 2020 Gambero Rosso International award winner Chef Emanuele Pollini, will fully open in September. For his first London restaurant, the menu evokes a trip through Italy.
Pollini is known for reintroducing lost herbs, edible flowers and little-known fruits in unusual combinations while retaining a strong connecting to his Italian origins. Serving seasonal products, it is inspired by Pollinis experience eating in the kitchens of his grandmother by the sea and his grandmother in the mountains. It will include new as well as his signature dishes that have gained him international recognition. The restaurant interior is designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis and will showcase new commissions by Sir Christopher Le Brun PPRA and a large-scale chandelier by Nacho Carbonell.
Later in the summer, Ladbroke Hall will unveil a garden sanctuary landscaped by Chelsea flower show winner, Luciano Giubbilei, featuring an outdoor restaurant and a private dining pavilion by Jean Prouvé.
From co-founder Loïc Le Gaillard, When Julien and I happened upon Ladbroke Hall in 2018, we were struck by its Beaux Arts architectural features, its grand portico and the heraldic crest. We quickly discovered its rich history and more recent use as a well-known photography studio and were driven to breathe life back into it. A lot of work has gone into its restoration and expansion over the last 4 years. To finally be able to share this labour of love, which has brought so many of our artists together for a unique opportunity to collaborate on a single and multi-faceted project, is deeply rewarding. Born from a desire to create a space for artistic expression that moves beyond traditional models and invests more into an emotional engagement with the arts, we cannot wait to experience the new ideas and opportunities it will inspire and nurture.
