PALM BEACH, FLA.- Coe + Co Photograph Gallery is excited to announce Serenity – an exhibition of photographs by internationally acclaimed artist Christophe von Hohenberg. Serenity will feature new works from the artist’s ongoing series of minimal, dreamlike images captured on the beaches of America’s Northeastern shoreline. The exhibition opened Wednesday, March 22, and runs through Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Coe + Co Photography Gallery, 292 South County Road, Palm Beach, FL.

Throughout this body of work, von Hohenberg’s unique perspective unveils familiar moments of purity and nostalgia as he captures families, lone figures, dogs and even the sand dunes in his distinctive style. “Blinded by the Light” is a term von Hohenberg often uses describing his works; bright sunny days when the artist is often squinting to see his subjects, presenting only slivers of detail against the vast land and seascape. A spectrum of gray tones and exposed light reveal poetic renderings of intimate and meditative moments.

Art Advisor Xin Fu writes “Christophe von Hohenberg’s artistic, intellectual and philosophical curiosity has been focused on the nature of time and the truth of history — present time, individual memories, the remote past, and concerns about the future. Under his lens, photography no longer connotes the quick satisfaction of the snapshot or the magic of the decisive moment. Rather, his photographs evoke the infinite and the immeasurable.”

While Von Hohenberg has been widely recognized for his fashion, portrait and lifestyle photography, this collection demonstrates his mastery no matter the subject. His work has been exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, NY and Fotografiska in Stockholm, Sweden, and The Norton Museum in Palm Beach, FL. He has photographed for Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine, Art Forum, Vanity Fair, German Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Fortune, Hamptons Magazine, American Vogue, German Vogue and French Vogue. His critically acclaimed book, Andy Warhol: The Day the Factory Died, received the Photo District News Photo Book Award and the AIGA Book Award in 2007. He has since published Another Planet: New York Portraits 1976-1996 (2014), Shadows of the Gods: Mexico City (2018), and The White Album of the Hamptons (2021).

Christophe von Hohenberg has generously donated a signed print valued at $8,500 to be auctioned off during his exhibition to support Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League of West Palm Beach.
