LONDON.- After the acquisition in 2022 of three prestigious auction houses in Europe (Bukowskis in Stockholm, Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen and Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris and Brussels),
Bonhams announces further strengthening of the European team. This follows a successful year of expansion in Europe, building on its well-established presence across 14 European offices in ten countries, and achieving a record year for sourcing in Europe for Arts and Collectibles.
Formerly Chief Transformation Officer at Bonhams, André Bodson will take on the newly created role of Managing Director, Europe. André will oversee forging a unified organisation for the European acquisitions and offices and will create a platform for growth to take Bonhams competitive position on the continent to the next level.
Building on his highly effective series of sales such as CoBrA: Powerful Voices in Post-War Europe, Patrick Masson will continue in his role of European Development Director.
Arnaud Cornette de Saint Cyr and Catherine Yaiche from Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr, Paris; Wilfrid Vacher from Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr, Brussels; Louise Arén from Bukowskis, Stockholm; and Jakob Dupont from Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen will all continue in their current roles, leading their respective auction houses. They and Patrick will report to André, as will the representatives in the 14 European offices.
Bruno Vinciguerra, Global CEO, Bonhams, said: I am very confident about the future of Bonhams in Europe with such a talented team at the helm. It was a breakthrough year for Bonhams when the company achieved $1billion in turnover for the first time in its 230-year history, and when we added three distinguished auction houses to Bonhams network in Europe. We look forward to building on this foundation to accelerate our growth in this strategic area.
