Horses - From being workers, to betting objects

Where would we have been without horses? This beautiful four-legged creature has been helping society massively throughout the years.

If we look back a few hundred years, there were no vehicles to bring people from a to b. There were no Ferraris or Bugattis for people to fly down the roads with. There were no ambulances who arrived quickly on four wheels after a quick call.

The best and quickest transport was in fact horses. The strong creatures were the way forward. They helped us with transport and they helped us with heavy lifting. If it wasn't for them, would we be where we are today?

The development for horses
When was the last time you saw people being carried by a horse, or a horse lifting heavy weights to help out a building construction? It's been some time right?

Nowadays we have all kinds of different transports, and all kinds of different machines to help out building constructions. Society has been taking massive steps forward the last hundred years, and horses are no longer working long hours as a sort of transport.

As one chapter ends, another one begins. Horses have gone from being hard workers, to betting objects. The strong and famously fast creatures have moved from building constructions, to horse trotting arenas.

Horse racing
Horses have been competing for the sake of man for a long time. Horse racing became well-established in the 18th century, and did continue to grow in popularity throughout the 18th century and beyond.

Horse racing has never been as big as it is today, and we have the opportunity to watch them compete for every single day all year. The sport is popular world wide, and not only by the usual horse fans anymore. Go to britishracecourses for a list of courses and tips on which events to watch!

The sport has become more than just a race between horses. The sport has grown straight into the betting world. Bookies all over the world offer prices to races worldwide. The sport has become one of the most popular objects for betting.

Betting on horse racing
Horse racing comes in different forms. One of those is trotting. Trotting is one of the most popular and most used forms in horse racing.

Sweden is one of the countries where trotting is the most used form of racing. Races are being held every day around the country, and people have the opportunity to place bets on each and every one of those.

The number one betting game for all swedes is called V75. The goal for every punter in this betting game is to get seven winners from seven trotting races. If someone succeeds, they will be winning a big amount of money. The biggest win ever on V75 was in fact 63 million kronor.

There is more than just V75 in Sweden to place your bets on. There are races every day, and you can place bets on everyone. To have information about every horse is of course very difficult, so luckily there are a few web sites which provide information and trotting tips.
