BOSTON, MASS.- Bonhams Skinner will present a trio of sales in February. This includes Fine Wines & Rare Spirits highlighted by a 1955 Glenfarclas 50 Year Old whisky and 23 unique bottles from the Macallan Exceptional Single Cask series. American History in Wood: The Levine Folk Art Collection presents the impressive, single-owner collection of wood works from Bob and Anne Levine. Fine Wines & Rare Spirits
February 6 - 16

Featuring nearly 1,000 lots of fine wines and rare spirits ranging from Grand Cru Champagne and Burgundy to 50+ year old single malt Scotch and aged Bourbon, Bonhams Skinner will present Fine Wine and Rare Spirits from February 6 – 16. The highlight of the sale is a 750ml bottle of 1955 Glenfarclas 50 Year Old whisky, estimated at $10,000 - 15,000. One of only 110 produced to celebrate the bicentenary birth of the distillery founder, John Grant, this bottle was distilled on September 30, 1955 and bottled 50 years later to the day. An additional highlight of the sale are 23 unique bottles from the Macallan Exceptional Single Cask series. Released from 2017 to 2019, these bottlings were hand selected by Macallan whisky makers for their unique color, aroma, and flavor notes and then bottled as stand alone single casks, instead of blended into Macallan age statement bottlings.

American History in Wood: The Levine Folk Art Collection
February 12 - 22

Bonhams Skinner will present an impressive single-owner collection of wood works, American History in Wood: The Levine Folk Art Collection, from February 12 - 22. Decades in the making, Bob and Anne Levine’s unique collection contains an impressively wide range of one-of-a-kind items all carved from wood with a particular focus on American political, military, and entertainment figures. A highlight of the collection is a late-19th century architectural relief sculpture of U.S. President George Washington emerging from a boat beside an allegorical figure of Lady Liberty or Columbia holding a spangled flag, estimated at $4,000 - 8,000. Additionally, the sale will feature a carved and painted life-sized bust of U.S. Army General George S. Patton, an important military figure during World War II, by Armand LaMontagne (b. 1939), estimated at $3,000 - 5,000.

Contemporary history is also represented with a carved relief depicting firemen raising the flag at Ground Zero in Manhattan following the 9/11 attacks, based on the iconic September 24th, 2001 cover of Newsweek magazine, by Gil Russell (b. 1948), estimated at $1,000 - 2,000.

Curiosities & The Instruments of Science
February 27 - March 9

From February 27 - March 9, Bonhams Skinner’s Curiosities & The Instruments of Science sale will feature a curated collection of instruments from the late Oklahoma Senator, Charles Ford, the longest-serving Republican state legislator in the state’s history. The collection consists mainly of American and English surveying instruments including instruments from the firms of W. & L.E. Gurley, Andrew Meneely, William Clark & Son, and Watkins & Hill. Additionally, the sale will present a small collection of medical curiosities including a rare Dr. Louis Auzoux full body medical teaching model from the mid-19th century, estimated at $4,000 - 6,000. A French naturalist, Dr. Auzoux revolutionized anatomical models used for teaching by developing a papier-mâché technique that allowed the models to be easily taken apart and displayed.
