E-sports today

Technology has been evolving tremendously throughout the decades. Hence there is a sharp increase towards gaming and E-sports in general, which is driving the present generation crazy. When talking about E-sports one of the first games which comes to mind is League of Legends. In this article we will explain to you what exactly is League of Legends and what are the details you need to pay your attention to.

What is a league of Legends?
First of all let us start with the question what is League of Legends all about? It is a team-based strategy game, in which two teams which consist of 5 specific champions (each) fight each other in order to destroy enemy’s base. The game was released by Riot Games in October 2009 and has been free to play game since then. The main revenue for the company comes through in game purchasable skins of the champions (character customization) however this doesn’t have any effect on the power of the champion, so the game is being kept well balanced and there is no possibility to boost your winning chances by micro transactions as it usually works in a lot of online games. It is one of the world’s most popular video games and belongs to MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena) category. There are several game modes available which include competitive Ranked Mode where you fight against real players for League Points and improve your Rank on the ladder but also more relaxed variations where people don’t sweat so much.

Objectives of League of legends
The most popular map which is being played on is called Summoner’s Rift and the players are playing as characters known as the champions. There are currently 159 champions in Leauge of Legends, out of which you need to find the most suitable one for you. There are 4 different lanes in League of Legends, where players are being distributed according to their skills and champions they are playing. Those lanes are TOP (players playing on top lane are usually picking champions which exceed in strength and tankiness and represent brute force of their team) Jungle (Junglers are usually playing as a mobile champions which lurke around the map and try to get important objectives and help other laners to execute their opponents) MID (usually champions with the highest damage output are picked in this lane. It is either assasins or mages in most cases. Being in the middle of the map gives you a lot of possibilities to force interesting plays) BOT (this lane is for the high damage ranged carries which in lot of cases lack some mobility and the supports who are doing their best to defend their partner in lane.) The game ends when one of the teams destroys enemy’s main building in the base, which is called Nexus. In order to reach Nexus you need to destroy towers which are defending it and deal a lot of damage, especially at the starting minutes of the game.

How to play?
At the start of the game each player runs to his lane which was assigned to him in the pre-game lobby. At 01:05 of each game, computer-controlled minions begin to spawn from the nexuses of each team and run towards 3 main lanes (top, mid and bot). Those minions crash into each other in the middle of each lane and start fighting. You need to last hit those minions in order to get extra gold and boost your power by buying additional gear at your base’s merchant. In Jungle there are also computer-controlled minion camps which are respawning after being fully cleared. There are a lot of details and strategies in this game and even a small mistake can choose fate of the final result.

Practice League of legends
When you’re a beginner, there is no need to hurry towards the deep end. Keep practicing to gain experience; otherwise, it is possible to get beaten and learn almost nothing. It is really important at early stages to decide which lane and which type of champions are most suitable for you.

In order to do so and not to waste a lot of time, we suggest you to have a look at League of Legends (lol) Coaching and Boosting services of Elounion, where they will do their best to explain all the essentials in a maximally short time and the most friendly way possible. Good luck on your fights on the summoner rift!
