LONDON.- Maximalism is back. Trends for interiors this year also include sustainability and the exhibitors at the London Antiques Rug & Textile Art Fair and LARTA Online, selling antique and vintage carpets, rugs and textiles, certainly fit the bill for sumptuous interiors and those wishing to be eco conscious.

One of the two newest exhibitors at LARTA 2023 is Nomadic Rugs Gallery. Ali Helabad of Nomadic Rugs Gallery hails from a family with a strong heritage in the handmade Persian carpet business over many generations. Having established his Nomadic Rugs Gallery in London in 2010, Ali continues to expand upon the first-hand expertise he garnered in Iran, specialising in all Oriental and Persian carpets, both antique and modern. Ali is also capable of providing expert advice on sourcing, valuation and repair as a consultant. In addition to his own extensive stock of handmade works available for sale, bespoke new works are also an exciting area that Nomadic Rugs Gallery partners with for select clients.

Also joining LARTA for the first time is Shame Studios with contemporary tapestries, rugs and carpets, as well as some vintage and antique pieces. Shame Studios also offers a bespoke design service built on the idea of a dialogue between artisans, designer, client and materials. Shame Studios focuses on preserving ancient rug making techniques whilst exploring innovation. Each intricately hand-crafted rug explores relationships between colour, pattern, texture, weight and the resonance of design languages. Exploring elements of abstraction, expressionism, classicism, Victoriana, tribal, Memphis and post-modern design to create the designs, working with Shame Studios brings to life a unique piece of long-lasting textile art to enhance your interior.

For those unable to visit LARTA 2023 in person, LARTA Online opens on Tuesday 24 January, coinciding with the physical opening on the mezzanine of The Decorative Fair at Evolution London, Battersea Park, London SW11 4NJ, at www.larta.net, where tickets can also be bought in advance.
