How Can You Divide a PDF?

One of the most common tasks in PDFs is dividing a large document into smaller parts. Whether it's to send someone a specific section or just to save time, knowing splitting PDFs can be incredibly helpful. Adobe Acrobat says, "Online PDF splitter makes it easy and quick to do so." You'll learn how to divide your File by pages, size, and start/end points!

How Can You Divide a PDF?
You can divide a PDF by page number, size, date or word count. This makes it easy to split the document into smaller pieces based on the criteria you select. The option to choose your own custom range is also available.

How to Divide a PDF by Page Numbers

● Create a new document in the program you'd like to save your PDF as.

● Save the File as a PDF, then open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC or any other compatible application (may be called Adobe Reader or another name depending on your operating system).

● Select "Edit > Divide" and choose whether you want to divide by page number or by bookmark name (or both). Depending on what is selected, different options will be available for you to choose from when dividing the File into sections. You can also click "Edit > Divide" and use the arrows at the bottom of this menu to select which option will appear first in your list: Page by Page, Bookmark Name, Bookmark Description/Total Pages, Total Pages/Bookmark Description/Description Only, Total Number Of Pages/Total Number Of Sections In File.

How to Divide a PDF by Size
To divide a PDF by size, you'll need to use the Page Setup dialog box. Here are the steps:

● Click File> Page Setup.

● In the Page Setup dialog box, enter the number of pages you want and then click OK. The program will divide your document into that many sections of equal size in one long column across each page.

● Add headers or footers if desired by clicking Insert > Header or Footer and entering text as desired in either field (or both).

If you need to split your File into smaller parts, here's how.
If you need to split your File into smaller parts, here's how.

● Use Adobe Acrobat. Any PDF editing software should have the option to split a PDF by page number or size. For example, if you have a 100-page document and want to separate it into two 50-page documents, simply open up your Adobe Acrobat program and go to "Split Document" in the Edit menu. Other programs may have similar functions called "Split Document," so use whatever works best for you!

● Use Microsoft Word or Excel. Suppose your PDF is formatted like an office document (with columns and rows). In that case, it might have been created using Microsoft Word or Excel first before being converted into a PDF format for distribution purposes. In this case, all you'd need to do is open up either one of those programs and look under their "Page Layout" tab, where there should be options for splitting pages at exact intervals (e.g., every third page).

Hopefully, this article has made it easier for you to understand how to divide PDFs. You know this can be a bit of a confusing process, but if you follow this advice and make sure your File is the right size before starting, then you should be able to split it with ease.
