MIAMI, FLA.- New Art Dealers Alliance and Pérez Art Museum Miami announced the selection of the fifth annual NADA Acquisition Gift for PAMM, an acquisition gift for the museums permanent collection. PAMM Associate Curator Jennifer Inacio and Assistant Curator Maritza Lacayo have selected Patrick Dean Hubbells You Keep Our Spirit Safe Between All Within the Day to Night, 2022 from Nina Johnson.
We are thrilled to acquire a work at NADA for the fifth year and we are looking forward to having Patrick Dean Hubbell in PAMMs collection! We are fascinated by his practice, which makes reference to his indigenous identity while also amplifying aspects of indigenous contemporary art within the western ideologies of art. PAMMs mission is centered on amplifying diverse voices and Hubbells work is the perfect addition to that conversation, said PAMM Associate Curator, Jennifer Inacio and Assistant Curator Maritza Lacayo.
Patrick Dean Hubbell (Dine, b. 1986) is an indigenous artist who lives and works on a ranch in the Navajo Nation, where he has spent the majority of his life incorporating raw materials and natural earth pigments collected from his Diné homelands into his two-dimensional paintings and drawings. You Keep Our Spirit Safe Between All Within the Day to Night incorporates a variety of mediumsincluding oil, acrylic, enamel, acrylic dispersion, and sewing on canvasweaving together the symbolism of his Navajo heritage into the lexicon of post modern painting to create densely spiritual works that connect the view to his ancestral past.

The NADA Acquisition Gift for PAMM provides funding for PAMM curators to acquire an artwork for the museums permanent collection, which features international modern and contemporary art from the U.S. Latino experience, the African diaspora, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Now in its fifth iteration, the NADA Acquisition Gift for PAMM was designed to enhance the relationship between the museum and the fairs diverse roster of exhibiting galleries and artists, and provides an opportunity for NADA to support and engage with the art institutions of Miami-Dade County in exciting and dynamic ways. The NADA Acquisition Gift for PAMM is funded by ticket sales of NADA Miami 2022.
