What Are Cisco CCNA, CCNP And CCIE?

CCNA, CCNP and CCIE are all the certifications of network engineer of Cisco Company in the United States.

1. CCNA
CCNA is a primary certification. CCNA Certification marks the ability to install, configure, run and troubleshoot medium-sized routing and switching networks. Professionals who have obtained CCNA Certification have corresponding knowledge and skills, can establish a connection with remote sites through WAN, eliminate basic security threats, and understand the requirements of wireless network access. CCNA training includes (but is not limited to) the use of the following protocols: IP, EIGRP, Serial Line Interface Protocol, RIPv2, VLAN, Ethernet and Access Control List (ACL).

2. CCNP
CCNP is an intermediate certification. CCNP professionals say that the certified personnel have rich network knowledge. CCNP certified professionals can install, configure and run LAN, WAN and Dial-up Access Services for large enterprise networks with more than 100 to 500 nodes. From January 29, 2015, the new CCNP examination policy will be adopted for CCNP examination subjects.

3. CCIE
CCIE is an expert certification. This certification is recognized as the most authoritative certification in the IT industry all over the world. It is the top certification in the field of global Internet working. In addition to the value, there are many differences among CCNA, CCNP and CCIE. The value determines the difference in the difficulty of obtaining them. CCNA takes one written test and CCNP takes three written tests. In addition to the written test, CCIE also takes an experimental test.

The examination registration fees of the three are also different. CCNA takes about USD 330, three courses of CCNP take USD 920, and CCIE written examination takes USD 460. The experimental examination fee varies according to the different prices of the examination room. Beijing examination room takes USD 1600, Hong Kong examination room takes USD 1600 and mobile examination room takes USD 1900. The examination halls in Hong Kong and Beijing are basically open every day except national holidays. Mobile examination rooms are mainly located in Shanghai, Taiwan, Chengdu and Wuhan, which are convenient for candidates in local cities. They are generally open for one week a year and one week a quarter in Shanghai.

There is no mandatory advanced restriction between CCNA, CCNP and CCIE, so candidates can directly choose to apply for CCIE and CCNP.

For the problem of how to prepare for the exam, the difficulty of CCNA and CCNP will be slightly lower, while CCIE takes a certain accumulation of project experience, because the CCIE experimental exam is difficult, and the exam time is 8 hours. The TS module can take up to 2.5h, which can be ended early. The DIAG module time is fixed at 0.5h, which cannot be ended early. CFG module: if TS takes up 2.5h, CFG remains 5h.

For network engineers, it is necessary to obtain the relevant certification of Cisco. Cisco certified network engineers belong to the profession with strong technical specialty, and the shortage of certified talents is increasing rapidly with the popularization of China's network. And the employment direction is almost unlimited, including data center engineers, network security engineers, enterprise network administrators, etc. With the accumulation of experience, you can be a project director, product manager, or engaged in R & D. A passport makes you stand out in employment and many other competitions. Cisco Certification is a highly prestigious network skill certification in the Internet industry. Obtaining Cisco Certification is undoubtedly a strong stepping stone to enter the network industry.
