Creating a Safe Kid's Zone in Your Beauty Spa

It is important in your beauty spa that you do all that you can to make yourself accessible for your clients. This includes the parents out there who may not be able to come to your spa because they have to look after the kids. You can encourage these parents to still spend some time at the spa, by offering a kid’s zone where they can leave the little ones whilst they spend some time getting their nails done or any other procedure which you may offer. A member of staff can man the fort, and here are some inclusions which you should be looking to introduce to the kid’s zone, to keep everyone happy.

Themed Areas

Depending on the space which you have to play with, you should look to introduce a couple of different zones to your kid’s play area. For example you could have a dinosaur zone with dino-themed activities. You don’t need to add life-size animatronic dinosaur replicas of course, but some tools and stickers will look great. Additionally you could have a toy zone, a quiet zone and an activity zone with puzzle books.

Maximum Security

You just ensure that you have thought about safety every step of the way, to give your customers the confidence that their kids will be safe in your spa. This will include childproofing electrical sockets, adding soft corners to cabinets or cupboards, having a solid gate in the section, CCTV monitoring the area and of course someone on hand at all times to look after the child’s safety. This is both to give parents peace of mind and to ensure that you stay in line with your legal responsibilities.

Snack and Drink Section

The last thing that we want are hungry children so always make sure that you have a well stocked snack and drink section. This can be relatively simple in terms of the range of items that you offer, but it will be essential that you maintain it so that there are always options for thirsty or hungry kiddies.

Interactive

Sometimes kids just want to sit down and watch a movie, so make sure that you have a TV and some option for them so that you will be able to give them just what they need. These days all you need is a good internet connection and kids can have access to a wide range of titles.

Legal Requirements

And finally it will be essential that you have all of your legal documentation in place to be able to look after children on the premises. Additionally whoever is looking after the kids when they are on-site, will have to be permitted to do so. This may cost you a little bit when it comes to original set up costs, but you will make that back through parents as they feel more confident about getting spa treatments when they are looking after the kids.

This could be a real game changer for your business.
