When Newspapers Steal the Show

Some people think that newspapers are a thing of the past. However, that is a totally false information, since there are many ways to use newspaper printing, in 2022. It is such an important way of expressing ideas, opinions and images, that there is a museum dedicated to them in Yokohama, Japan. Here is an introduction to what you can expect to find in it, and an observation on newspaper print uses, in 2022.

Newspark: The Japan Newspaper Museum

This museum will certainly attract all the people who love to read, watch or listen to the news, but also those curious of discovering new and different sites to see, around the world. After all, there are not too many newspaper museums to visit, no matter where you live. So when you decide to tour Japan, you must keep a day open and head to Yokohama to visit Newspark. The reason why it is located in that particular city, is that the first Japanese newspaper was launched there. The goal of the museum is to introduce visitors to newspapers in a social way, by understanding the role that they play in our lives, in a time where information is accessible online, at all times. Maybe the visit will entice you to create your own newspaper. Then choose a newspaper template and print your first edition!

The Importance of Verified Information

When you visit the museum, you will have access to unique prints that took place in the past. Editions about special events that made the day, in another time. It is interesting to understand the importance of each particular feature, on people’s lives. Even more so now, as we face fake news and absolute truth, which are both trying to convince us all, on a way to see life. Back in the days when newspaper reigned, the importance of verified information was supreme. It is difficult to even imagine what being a journalist meant, back then. Their job was to retell events, as they happened. A far-cry from today’s journalism which brings you the news through their view point (or through the one of the network that they work for).

Newspapers in 2022

Today, newspaper print has become trendy and cool. Back in the days where people couldn’t live without their morning edition, it was a very conservative way of providing information. Now, companies use them to inform their clients on their latest productions. In the art industry, some galleries print them monthly, to show their latest additions. In events of any kind, newspaper have become a great tool, since it can be printed rapidly and distributed the next day, with all of the info on what happened the previous day. These are just a few examples of how many forms printed newspaper take, in today’s world.

Of course, the typical newspaper which is meant to inform the mass, still exists, in most countries. Although some newspapers switched from print to digital, there are some that have taken the space that others left behind, and still show a strong distribution. Just goes to prove that newspaper printing will not disappear anytime soon.
