PARIS.- For 16 days, from 8 to 23 June 2022, Hubert de Givenchy's exceptional collection made le goût français and Paris shine throughout the world. This sale is a beautiful tribute to an exceptional collector who faithfully accompanied Christie's France for 25 years. With 1229 lots, 6 days of pre-sale exhibition, 10,000 visitors, 6 auctions, more than 30 hours of live auctioneering, conducted by 6 auctioneers, more than a million people connected on Christie's social networks for the opening sale on 14 June, this sale will be always remembered as a milestone, not only in Christie’s history.

AN INTERNATIONAL APPEAL FOR LE GOÛT GIVENCHY

• Worldwide participation: bidders from 48 countries and buyers from 34 countries
• Geographical breakdown by buyers: 68% from EMEA, 27% AMERICAS and 5% APAC.

A SALE CONFIRMING THE RESILIANCE OF THE ART MARKET

• Total: €118,116,172 / $123,694,746 / £101,932,654 – doubling the low pre-sale estimate
• 27% of new bidders and 24% of new buyers
• 14% of new registrants were millennials
• Online sale: tripled its low pre-sale estimate due to more than 1000 registrants
• 85% of all lots sold above high pre-sale estimate
• 5 lots sold above €5 Million (see below Top 10 for details), and 20 lots above €1 Million
• Top lot: la Femme qui marche [I] by Alberto Giacometti sold for €27 Million, becoming the most expensive lot sold in France to date in 2022
• 19 new world auction records set – mainly for classic works of art

RESULTS RE-DEFINE MAKRET FOR 18th CENTURY FURNITURE AND ART

• 85% of all lots dated from the 18th Century and sold at above 95%
